OEF/OIF Returning Combat Veterans Case Management

What is OEF/OIF?

OEF stands for Operation Enduring Freedom and is in reference to veterans returning from combat in Afghanistan and surrounding areas.
OIF stands for Operation Iraqi Freedom and is in reference to veterans returning from combat in Iraq in surrounding areas.

What VA services are available for OEF/OIF veterans?
 Seamless Transition:

We are honored to welcome Veterans and Service Members who have recently returned from serving in combat operations such as Operation Enduring Freedom (OEF) and Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF).We are committed to helping make each service member’s transition from active duty military status to civilian life as smooth and seamless as possible.

The VA provides combat veterans with free health care for conditions potentially related to their combat service for up to two years following their separation from active duty.  The VA also provides healthcare for conditions not related to combat service, which requires minimal co-pay. At the end of the two year period, veterans will retain enrollment eligibility and a co-pay status will be determined based on individual circumstances.
