Endoscopy Services

Welcome to the Cheyenne VA Endoscopy Clinic!  We are committed to making your experience with us a positive and comfortable one.

The Cheyenne VA offers several types of endoscopic procedures:

♦ Colonoscopy - a lower gastrointestinal (GI) tract scope which allows the doctor to examine your entire large intestine (the colon)
♦ Esophagogastroduodenoscopy (EGD) - an upper GI tract scope, which allows the doctor to examine your esophagus, stomach, and the first section of your small intestine
♦ Flexible sigmoidoscopy - a scope of the first section of your colon, the sigmoid colon
♦ Capsule endoscopy or PillCam® - an examination of your entire GI tract via a capsule-sized camera
♦ Bronchoscopy - a scope of your trachea and lungs

You must have your doctor or nurse practitioner place a consult for any of our procedures.  Once we receive your consult, one of our staff will contact you for scheduling.  We are happy to answer any questions or concerns you might have about your procedure. We will send you instructions on preparing for your procedure once your procedure is scheduled.  We also have an audio recording of the instructions for preparing for a colonoscopy available at (307) 778-7550, extension 7380.

Most patients choose to be sedated for colonoscopies and EGDs.  Bronchoscopies require a patient be sedated.  While the procedures are not painful, they can be uncomfortable.  If you are sedated for your procedure, you MUST have a responsible adult with you on the day of your procedure, to take you home.  You cannot have your procedure done under sedation unless an adult will take you home afterwards.

To get to the Endoscopy Clinic from the main entrance, take the "Buffalo Elevators" to the second floor, take a slight left, and a right to the corridor.  Walk down the corridor past the Eye Clinic and Barber Shop to the "Cowboy Elevators."  Take the Cowboy Elevators up to the third floor.  Our clinic will be on your left as you exit the elevator.
