TeleMental Health (TMH)

TeleMental Health is a technology where mental health appointments take place using secure connections between the provider and the Veteran who are geographically separated. TeleMental Health appointments are also made to share resources and provide access to care in geographically distant areas.

Types of TeleMental Health Services

TeleMental Health Clinical Services are used to treat virtually every Diagnostic and Statistical Manual diagnosis, including affective disorders, anxiety disorders/PTSD, psychotic disorders, and substance use disorders. These services are employed to deliver virtually every treatment method.

TeleMental Health Services offered by Cheyenne VA Mental Health Service Line:

• Group Therapy and/or Services such as Substance Abuse Disorder; Seeking Safety, Peer Support and Smoking Cessation.
• Individual Therapy and/or Services such as mental health medicine management and psycho supportive as well as evidence based therapies.
• Support to other VAs in our region for mental health services.
• Availability of “in-home” therapy for Veterans using a secure internet connection into such locations as their own personal residence.
